What is DentaSonic?

It cleans your retainer for you while you brush your teeth. Four reasons it earns a permanent spot by the sink.

  • It lifts the buildup

Tiny bubbles implode right on the surface and knock loose the cloudy film brushing always leaves behind.

  • It reaches the hollows

The water carries the cleaning power into every groove, tooth pocket and wire. If it is under water, it gets cleaned.

  • It works fast

Three minutes and you are done. Say goodbye to the glass of fizzing water sitting on the sink all night.

  • It costs nothing to run

Tap water and a USB charge every few weeks. Nothing to refill, nothing to rebuy, no chemicals.

Be honest: how do you clean your retainer? A quick scrub, a rinse under the tap, back in the case. It spends the night bathing in saliva, then the day shut in a dark, damp box. Give it a few weeks and you know the result: a milky haze that won’t budge and a smell that’s back before lunch.

It’s not your fault. It’s geometry. A retainer or aligner is molded to every curve of your teeth, which means dozens of tiny pockets, inside corners and thin edges. Toothbrush bristles simply can’t bend into them. You end up cleaning the smooth outside and missing the hidden spots, exactly where plaque and saliva love to settle.

Cleaning tablets? Sure, the liquid gets into the hollows. But fizzy water has no scrubbing power. It covers the smell for a few hours and leaves stuck-on buildup right where it was. Add the overnight wait, the glass cluttering your sink and a new box to buy every month.

DentaSonic brings what brushing and soaking both lack: real cleaning power, delivered by water, into every spot you can’t reach. Under the tank, a transducer vibrates 47,000 times per second. That creates thousands of microscopic bubbles that form and burst right against your retainer. Each burst knocks the film loose without scrubbing or scratching a thing. No holding, no scraping: you press one button and brush your teeth while it does the work.

Who DentaSonic is for?

If it goes in your mouth and then into a case, DentaSonic was made for it. Here is who gets the most out of it.

  • Night guard wearers. Retainer after braces or guard for grinding: drop it in when you wake up, brush your teeth, and it’s spotless and ready for tonight.
  • Clear aligner wearers. Twenty two hours a day in saliva, out at every meal. Aligners turn cloudy faster than anything, and a quick cycle keeps them close to invisible.
  • Parents. Let’s face it, kids don’t clean their retainers properly, and they never will. But dropping it in and pressing a button? They can do that. Clean no longer depends on their effort.
  • Athletes. A mouthguard goes from the field to the gym bag soaking wet. A 5 minute cycle after the game stops the locker room smell before it moves in.
  • Denture and partial wearers. Clasps and the underside of the base are a nightmare to brush. The ultrasonic bath reaches them without any effort on your part.
  • Travel. 320 g (11.3 oz), no cord, 150 minutes of battery: toss it in your bag and keep the exact same routine in any hotel bathroom.

The only rule to remember: plain water, nothing added, and the appliance fully under the surface. Everything else takes one button.

Why DentaSonic beats cleaning by hand?

Real ultrasonic power, a stainless steel tank, two simple buttons and a battery that lasts for weeks. Here is what you get.

  • 47 kHz ultrasonics

47,000 vibrations per second pulse through the water and create microscopic bubbles that burst against your appliance, tearing away the film stuck to it. Many comparable cleaners run between 42 and 45 kHz. DentaSonic runs at 47.

    Touch free cleaning
  • Three timed cycles: 3, 5 and 10 minutes

No guesswork: 3 minutes for daily care, 5 when you spot a haze, 10 for a retainer that has been neglected. The unit switches itself off at the end, so there is no timer to set and nothing to babysit.

    Shuts off by itself
  • 180 ml (6 oz) stainless steel tank

Stainless steel transmits ultrasonic energy better than a plastic basin, and it won’t scratch or stain over time. 180 ml is plenty to fully cover a retainer, a pair of aligners or a full denture. Empty, rinse, wipe: done in seconds.

    Real steel, not plastic
  • 150 minutes of runtime, USB charging

One full charge gives you 150 minutes, roughly fifty daily cycles. Use it every morning and you will only plug it in every few weeks. And no cable dangling over the sink while it runs.

    Totally cordless
  • Two buttons and a display

The screen shows your cycle and counts down the minutes. One button turns it on, the other picks 3, 5 or 10 and starts. No menus, no combos, nothing to learn, so it is just as easy for a ten year old as for a grandparent.

    Anyone can use it
  • 320 g (11.3 oz), travel size

About the weight of a small water bottle and compact enough for any toiletry bag. Battery powered, so no adapter and no free outlet needed. Your morning routine stays the same wherever you wake up.

    Goes everywhere

How 47 kHz cleaning works?

Ultrasonic sounds complicated. It isn’t. Picture three things: a plate that vibrates incredibly fast, water that carries the vibration, and microscopic bubbles that do the scrubbing for you.

Beneath the tank sits a transducer, a small ceramic disc that flexes every time current passes through it. It moves 47,000 times per second, far beyond what human ears can hear. With each pulse, the water is compressed, then released. On every release, pressure drops so low that the water briefly tears open and forms microscopic vapor bubbles. This is called cavitation.

Each bubble lives for a split second. As pressure climbs back, it implodes, and the bubbles touching your retainer unload that energy directly onto its surface. Plaque film, dried saliva and trapped particles simply lose their grip and float away. And since bubbles form everywhere in the water, every wet surface gets the same treatment: deep in the tooth pockets, under the wire, inside a denture clasp. A brush only cleans what it touches. Ultrasound cleans everything the water touches.

3 to 10 min

Cycle lengthThree minutes for daily care, up to ten for heavy buildup. Automatic shutoff, every single time.

Two numbers tell the whole story: frequency controls how fine the cleaning action is, time controls how deep it goes.

“Bristles only clean where they land. On a retainer, most of the buildup hides in the hollows they can’t get into. Ultrasound reaches every surface the water covers, no exceptions.”

DentaSonic product team

What you see after a cycle

The first thing you will notice is clarity. After a few weeks, a retainer turns milky and frosted, and no amount of brushing brings it back. One cycle later it is crystal clear again, clear enough to see the outline of every tooth. Next comes freshness: odor comes from buildup trapped in the hollows, and when the buildup goes, so does the smell.

The third? Look at the water. The first time you run an appliance that has never been ultrasonically cleaned, the water turns cloudy and tiny particles float to the top. That is everything your toothbrush was missing, day after day. Cycle after cycle the water stays clearer, proof that your daily routine is keeping up.

How to use

How to use DentaSonic?

Three steps, less than twenty seconds of your time. Then DentaSonic takes over and shuts itself off when it is done.

Plain water poured into the stainless steel tank of the DentaSonic cleaner 1

Fill it with plain water

Pour tap water into the tank up to the fill line. No salt, no vinegar, no tablets: water is all it takes, because water is what carries the ultrasonic power. Lukewarm works a touch faster, but cold is perfectly fine.

A clear retainer set on the bottom of the DentaSonic tank 2

Drop in the appliance

Place your retainer, aligners, mouthguard or denture flat on the bottom so it sits fully under water. Any part poking out won’t get cleaned. Close the lid to keep splashes inside.

A finger pressing the cycle button on the DentaSonic cleaner, the display showing 3, 5 and 10 minutes 3

Pick the cycle

Tap the cycle button until 3, 5 or 10 shows, then start. The screen counts down and the unit stops on its own. Give your appliance a quick rinse, empty the tank, wipe it dry, and you are all set.

What is in the box?

Everything you need is right inside. Unbox it tonight and run your very first cycle before bed.

  • 1 DentaSonic cleaner The cleaner itself, with its 180 ml stainless steel tank, clear lid and two button controls.
  • 1 USB charging cable Plugs into any USB port you already own: phone charger, laptop or power bank.

DentaSonic day to day

Daily care takes three minutes, and the longer cycles catch up when life gets busy. Six moments you will be glad it is there.

  • In the morning, when the retainer comes out

Last night’s buildup is still soft. Three minutes clears it before it dries and hardens.

  • While you brush your teeth

Start the cycle, brush your teeth, and you will both be done at the same time.

  • Between meals, for aligners

A quick cycle wipes out that stale taste you get from putting them straight back in.

  • Coming home from practice

A damp mouthguard in a closed bag gets funky fast. Five minutes stops it in its tracks.

  • For a ring or a watch band

The 180 ml tank fits small jewelry too, pulling grime from between links and under settings.

  • On the road, no outlet, no cable

320 g in your bag and 150 minutes of battery. Same routine, wherever you are.

Three habits that change the result

There is no learning curve. Still, these three simple habits turn a good clean into a perfect one.

Clean it when it comes out, not before it goes back in. This one matters most. Fresh, damp buildup comes off in 3 minutes. Let it dry all day in a closed case and you will need 5 or 10. Run your cycle in the morning, right after you take the retainer out: less time, better results.

Submerge it completely. Ultrasound only cleans what is under water. Tilt your retainer so one edge breaks the surface and that strip stays dirty while the rest sparkles. Fill to the line, lay it flat, make sure it is covered, then close the lid.

Change the water every cycle. When the cycle ends, that water holds everything that just came off. Reuse it and you are cleaning in dirty water. Empty, rinse, wipe dry. Five seconds, and it keeps mineral spots off the steel.

A clear retainer fully submerged in the DentaSonic tank during a cycle, the water in motion
Lay it flat and cover it fully: ultrasound only works where there is water.

Tip: recharge every time you move to a new set of aligners or a new retainer. It is an easy reminder, and you will never face a dead battery on a busy morning.

The limits worth knowing

DentaSonic does one job and does it brilliantly. To keep expectations clear, here is what it is not.

  • No medical purpose. It cleans objects, period. It does not treat anything and never replaces brushing your teeth or regular dental visits.
  • It does not sterilize. It removes the buildup and debris where bacteria settle, which is different from the sterilization done in a dental office autoclave.
  • It will not fix a warped appliance. Cracked, bent by heat or suddenly too tight? That is a job for your dentist, not for a cleaner.
  • Some pieces need a check first. New dentures, bonded repairs, jewelry with set stones: read the maker’s care guidelines before the first cycle.

Precautions and care

Use plain water only, stay below the fill line and never switch the unit on with an empty tank, since the transducer needs water to release its energy. Never put the base in water or in the dishwasher. Don’t run a cycle while charging: unplug first, then start. Keep the unit and its cable away from young children.

Looking after it takes seconds: empty the tank after each use, wipe it with a soft cloth and leave the lid open briefly so it dries. Once a month, rinse with warm water to clear mineral traces. When charging with the included USB cable, let the battery fill completely instead of topping up in short bursts.

My retainer had this white haze I just couldn’t scrub off anymore. First 5 minute cycle, the water went cloudy and my retainer came out clear. Now I do 3 minutes every morning and the haze hasn’t come back once.

Got this for my 14 year old, who has a removable appliance and never cleaned it properly. Now he drops it in before school and presses the button. That’s it. It comes out clean whether he tries hard or not, and honestly that’s what sold me.

Eight months into aligners, and by day three they always tasted stale. A 3 minute cycle after each meal took care of it. Only small complaint: fitting both trays in at the same time is a bit of a squeeze.

By the end of the season my hockey mouthguard had a smell no rinse could hide. I ran a 10 minute cycle that first night and now do 5 minutes after every skate. It comes out clean and dries without leaving a ring in the case.

Best part? I’m done buying tablets. I used to go through a box a month for my mother’s denture, plus a glass left on the sink all night. Now it’s tap water, ten minutes, and back in the cabinet it goes.

Took it on a two week work trip. It fits in my toiletry bag and I never had to charge it once. I throw my wedding band in now and then too, and it comes out with a shine no cloth ever gave it.

Before you buy

Your questions before ordering

How it works, what fits in the tank, how to get the best results. These are the questions buyers ask us most.

How does DentaSonic clean a retainer?

Press start and the unit sends 47 kHz ultrasonic waves through the water. They create microscopic bubbles that burst against your retainer, a process called cavitation. Each tiny burst knocks film and buildup off the surface.

Since the water surrounds every part of the appliance, the cleaning reaches the deepest tooth pockets, the underside of the wire and every tight edge: all the places a toothbrush misses.

What can you clean in the tank?

Night guards, clear aligners, sports mouthguards, removable appliances and dentures. The 180 ml tank also handles small jewelry like rings, wedding bands, watch bands and delicate chains.

For fragile pieces, brand new dentures or jewelry with set stones, check the care guidance from your dentist or the manufacturer first.

Which cycle should you use?

3 minutes for daily care, ideally right after you take your retainer out in the morning. 5 minutes when you spot a cloudy film or notice an odor. 10 minutes for an appliance that sat in its case for days and has hardened buildup.

Not sure? Start short. If you still see a dull spot, run a 5 minute cycle.

Do you need to buy cleaning tablets?

Never. DentaSonic works with plain tap water, because the 47 kHz waves do the cleaning, not chemicals. Nothing to restock, and no fizzy tablet taste on your retainer.

Can you run a cycle while it charges?

No. Charge it with the USB cable, unplug, then start your cycle. A full battery delivers up to 150 minutes, or about fifty 3 minute cycles.

Used once a day, one charge keeps you going for weeks.

Is it safe for clear aligners?

Ultrasonic cleaning is non abrasive: no brush, no scraping, no moving part touching the surface. It is suited to thermoformed plastic, metal wires and denture acrylic.

Follow the user guide (plain water, no longer than necessary) along with the care instructions from your appliance’s manufacturer.

How is this different from brushing or soaking?

A toothbrush only cleans where its bristles land, so narrow grooves, the inside of tooth pockets and the underside of wires get missed. A tablet soak reaches everywhere but has no mechanical power, so hardened buildup stays stuck.

DentaSonic combines the best of both: it reaches every hollow like a soak and adds the physical energy that lifts buildup away. In 3 minutes, not overnight.

Does DentaSonic use a UV lamp?

No. DentaSonic relies on 47 kHz ultrasound alone. UV light only works on surfaces it shines on directly, so cloudy water, thick buildup, wires and grooves all leave shadowed spots.

UV also can’t remove anything already stuck to the plastic. Ultrasonic waves move through all of the water and physically loosen whatever clings to the surface.

The DentaSonic ultrasonic cleaner on a pale marble bathroom counter, a clear retainer beside it

Three minutes each morning, and retainer cleaning is off your mind for good. No more haze, no more smell, no more scrubbing or overnight soaks. Just a corner of the sink, some tap water and a USB charge every few weeks. And if it doesn’t win you over, send it back within 30 days.
